On the changing horizon of interaction with computers: From interaction to intersection

چکیده

During the last few decades, we have seen tremendous improvements in the way human interact with computers. It went through electrical, symbolic, textual and graphical forms of interaction. In 1988, Mark Weiser, the father of Ubiquitous Computing, gave an idea of invisible computers, embedded in everyday objects replacing PCs. This has given a new vision of interaction with computers. New paradigms for interaction and interaction-design include tangible & social approaches to interaction, and embodied interaction. Eventually, we are moving towards seamless interactions in which users will be served by the computers invisibly whenever they come in the range of these ubiquitous computers. I call it as Human Computer InterSection (HCIs).
